Stanford White

Stanford White was an American architect and a partner in the firm McKim, Mead & White, a prominent Beaux-Arts practice during the turn of the 20th century. He designed numerous civic, institutional, and religious buildings, as well as private residences for the wealthy. His work, which included the permanent Washington Square Arch, was instrumental in embodying the principles of the American Renaissance.
