Ruth Evans
Ruth Kiew (1946–2025) was a Malaysian-British botanist specializing in the tropical vegetation of Peninsular Malaysia and Borneo. A renowned expert on begonias, she became the first woman to receive the David Fairchild Medal for plant exploration in 2002. Her extensive contributions to botanical science are recognized through the standard author abbreviation Kiew, used when citing botanical names.
