Performance Art

Performance art is an interdisciplinary genre defined by the presence of the artist within the work. These artistic actions may be spontaneous or scripted and are presented to a public audience in a fine art context. Often referred to as artistic action, the practice is experienced either live or through documentation and played a fundamental role in the development of 20th-century avant-garde art.
