Kobayashi Issa

Kobayashi Issa was a Japanese poet recognized as one of the four great haiku masters alongside Bashō, Buson, and Shiki. Often referred to simply as Issa, a pen name meaning Cup-of-tea, he is best known for his significant contributions to haiku poetry and his personal journals. His work remains a foundational element of the haikai tradition.
