Henry Hitchings

Henry Hitchings is a British author and critic specializing in narrative non-fiction, language, and cultural history. He has written extensively on Samuel Johnson and served as president of the Johnson Society of Lichfield. His work includes The Secret Life of Words, which received the 2008 John Llewellyn Rhys Prize and a Somerset Maugham Award. He is also a long-time critic of books and theatre, having chaired the drama section of the UK's Critics' Circle.
