David Mamet

David Mamet is an American playwright, author, and filmmaker born in 1947. He gained early critical acclaim for his 1970s off-Broadway plays, including The Duck Variations and American Buffalo. His career includes the Pulitzer Prize-winning Glengarry Glen Ross and the 1988 play Speed-the-Plow. Mamet has continued to write for the stage, with later works including Race and The Penitent.
