Czesław Miłosz
Czesław Miłosz was a Lithuanian-born Polish-American poet, prose writer, translator, and diplomat. Recognized as one of the significant literary figures of the 20th century, he served as a professor of Slavic Languages and Literatures at the University of California, Berkeley, from 1961 to 1998. In 1980, he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature for his work voicing the human condition amidst global conflict.
