Augusta Savage

Augusta Savage was an American sculptor and educator central to the Harlem Renaissance. Beyond her own practice, she operated a studio that served as a vital training ground for a generation of nationally recognized artists. Throughout her career, she was a dedicated advocate for equal rights for African Americans within the arts.
